Emil & Friends – Downed Economy

I don’t know if any of the guys in this picture are Emil, or his friends for that matter, but I do know that their remix of Little Boots’ New in Town is pretty sweet. Good enough to make me ignore the fact that their Myspace looks like it was designed by someone on a bad acid trip in the 80s, at least.

But then, maybe that’s the point. Their remixes are pretty full on, everything is turned up to 11, vocals are always vocoded, sleazy guitars are layered on top and shrill buzzes of distorted bass are dropped all over the place; they have a tendency to make the originals sounds pretty…well, bland.
