Originally I was mostly unimpressed by their new material: Month of May was a bit too scrappy, unfocused and I heard someone describe The Suburbs as sounding like a Travis track and it kind of stuck for the first few listens, but it’s grown since then and it’s definitely my favourite of the two. As the review says, it just feels like Arcade Fire are ready to become everyone’s favourite band again after the mis-step of Neon Bible.
